Caves in Yangshuo County
Caving for the active and adventurous
Dragon Gate Cave (3 KM from moon hill), and Buddha Cave (about 8KM, near Moon Hill), are the best places for people who are active. In these cave there are a lot of different limestone formations.
The most fun is had if you go as a group of friends (old friends or new but willing acquaintances) and take a mud bath. The mud in the cave is also meant to be good for your skin. Try not to get carried away and get it in each others eyes.
You do not need to worry about anything - afterwards you can clean up in a clear underground pool and the service includes a guide, safety helmet, anti-slip shoes, washing room, changeroom, and storebox. Swimming suits can be hired but you need to pay for that.
More relaxing caves
Silver cave is the one which is good for the less active, and families with young children. It is 18 Km far away from Yangshuo, near the old town of Maling (we can arrange transport to suit your itinerary/budget). It was opened to the public back in 1999. The karst formation cave is surrounded by green mountains and the whole area looks like a beautiful landscape garden. This caving is not like water caves. You shouldn't get muddy but you should enjoy the fantastic stalgmites and stalactites - lit up and named to emphasize their resemblance to wordly objects.
