Using Paypal to make a deposit
The Yangshuo Expat facility
We get many requests to start services before arrival in Yangshuo. For instance, we can arrange flights up from Hong Kong, transport to Pingan and back, nights in Guilin and a Li River Cruise all before any chance of accepting payment. In such cases we ask for a deposit. We usually request this at the time that we need to pay for the first services ourselves. Usually that means at the time that flights are confirmed.
Faye's husband is British and we use his UK banking to run a Paypal account. At the moment, this account has limits on the amount that can be transferred in any one year. We therefore prefer to use it only for deposits, not full payment.
The procedure is simple enough and works well. Once we have agreed a deposit amount by email, Faye's husband will send an email which links to a Paypal invoice. You pay this by any of the means accepted by Paypal. We never see your personal account details.
Once you have paid we get a confirmation direct from Paypal. We then confirm to you and everyone is happy.
